Vathyavali
Vathyavali beach is located in Etoloakarnania, just 10 minutes from Pogonia, Palairos. It is bathed by the Ionian Sea and is located opposite the island of Lefkada. The beach with its incredible, crystal clear, turquoise waters is reminiscent of an exotic island beach with a wild, different beauty.
This unknown paradise is an enchanting bay and a safe anchorage for boats.
Blue-green, cool waters and the fine, white pebbles make it one of the most beautiful beaches in the wider area. The surrounding landscape is lush green and the combination with the crystal clear waters creates a dreamy image.
Varko
Varko is considered one of the best beaches in the area around Palairos village. It is located on the mainland opposite the east coast of Lefkada.
The beach is not suitable for sandcastles as it is covered with a mixture of coarse sand and pebbles. But the water is crystal clear and the bottom can easily be seen – an ideal place for swimming and snorkelling. In the middle of the beach there are two small wooden piers which are perfect for children to jump and swim in the water.
The area is protected from strong winds and currents that make the sea calm and without waves.
